A Proper Farewell to February…
Dear February,
You’re such a loving month. After all, we celebrate Valentine’s Day with you, President’s Day and I for one, celebrate my birthday, my mom’s birthday and my Grandmother’s also. I have such fond memories of you in 2012. My “golden birthday” (when you turn the age of the date of your birth) in London at a sushi restaurant, was exactly what I needed after a long flight from LA. I loved meeting all my English friends at my 2 meet & greets and who could forget my first “Brit Awards”. I got to see my favorite band, “Coldplay” perform and so many others. #EPIC.
After that it was off to Madrid, Spain. This was my first time there and it was AMAZING. I loved looking out on the balcony of my hotel room to the most incredible view of Madrid. I had an amazing photo shoot in Madrid and met so many wonderful people. The Spaniards are so warm and friendly, almost everyone I met at El Corte kissed me European style (once on each cheek). I loved eating Spanish ham and all the delicious Spanish food.
I was also so thrilled that I got an extra day of my favorite month this year (“Leap Day”), which only comes around every 4 years. I know that on this special day, it is perfectly acceptable for women to propose to men. Even though I’m a little young for marriage right now, this might come in handy in the future ;{). I also learned that in the olden days, if one ever proposed to someone and if they didn’t accept, he would then have to buy the girl 12 pairs of gloves to hide the embarrassment of no ring on her finger. Crazy right?
The memories I made this month I will always cherish and never forget. I will miss you loads…much love until we meet again in 2013.
xo,
Victoria

R.I.P Etta James

For those of you who don’t know, Etta passed away today… very sad. She’s one of the greatest blues singers to ever live. “At Last” is one of my favorite songs of hers, it’s so romantic & beautiful. She has so much soul & you feel so much of her emotion when she sings. Etta James will not be forgotten.
Have a beautiful day guys :{).

“Mardy Bum”- Arctic Monkeys
A friend of mine from the UK was sending me new music through the mail, & 1 of the albums I got was the Arctic Monkeys: “Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not”. I immediately fell in love with this band. The lead singer, Alex turner has such an awesome voice. Track number 9 on that album is “Mardy Bum”… great melody, great lyrics, great everything. I love it. Hope you enjoy it as well.
P.S. You’re probably asking yourself,”What the heck does mardy bum mean?”. A mardy bum is someone who complains alot, moans about their life etc… Usually used in the north of England. Are you a mardy bum? ;{)

The Noisettes- “Wild Young Hearts”
I had the pleasure of seeing this group perform at the Teen Vogue Young Hollywood party a few years back & ever since I’ve fallen in love with them. The lead singer, Shingai Shoniwa has such an incredible voice! Her stylization is amazing. Since I will be coming to the UK very shortly, I thought I would introduce you all to some of my favorite UK artists. The Noisettes are from London & I hope you’ll love jamming out to them as much as I do. :{)

From Sonny & Cher to Cher gone solo, I just love her. Her crazy outfits & her distinct low voice make me happy. Wouldn’t mind borrowing that feather headdress either, it’s quite fabulous ;{).
Here’s a song of hers that you guys might know, its called “Believe”, one of my favorites. Check it out: http://youtu.be/LbXiECmCZ94

Some of the greater things in life are unseen; that’s why you close your eyes when you kiss, cry, or dream.

Love this quote!
Took a break from rehearsing a new episode of “Victorious” with Matt Bennett, to watch funny videos in his dressing room. This one made me laugh! He’s quite a technologically savvy yet feisty little bullfrog this one ;{). Have a great day!
